Hey
I chased the wrong thing for years. Let me be totally shameless and clear with you.
When I first started trying to make money online, I had no idea what I was doing. I tried everything. Selling cheap digital products. Jumping on trending platforms. Chasing every new opportunity that promised passive income. Some of it worked for a little while. Most of it did not.
And every time one thing dried up, I had to start all over again. No brand. No audience. No foundation. Just wasted months and a lot of frustration.
It took me years to figure out that I was not building anything. I was just renting someone else's opportunity.
But here is the thing. You do not have to repeat that.
Because the tools available right now, specifically Claude, have completely changed what is possible for a single person starting from zero.
The problem with most "AI side hustles" people recommend
Everyone on YouTube right now is pushing the same stuff. Sell Notion templates. Start an Etsy store. Build a faceless channel. AI dropshipping.
Here is the real problem. If anyone with a $20 Claude subscription can do it, the moment it gets popular, it becomes a race to the bottom. No brand, no differentiation, no staying power.
I have seen this cycle before. It happened with cheap Udemy courses. It happened with NFTs. It always ends the same way. The window closes, and the people who built on trends start over while the people who built brands move forward.
Do not build on a trend. Build on yourself.

What actually works: selling an AI-powered service
This is the model that changes everything for beginners, and it is simpler than you think.
You take a skill you already have. Something you have done at a job, a hobby, anything people would pay for. Sales. Writing. Marketing. Design. Productivity. Does not matter.
Then you sell that skill as a service to businesses or individuals. And here is the part that is new: you use Claude to do 80 to 90 percent of the actual work.
You are not selling AI. You are selling a result. Claude just makes it possible for one person to deliver at the speed and quality of an entire team.
A regular person from an insurance sales job is now making $5,500 per month writing blog posts for clients. Claude writes them. She edits and delivers. That is the whole business.
No app to build. No product to create before you sell it. No technical setup that requires a developer. You sell first. Then you deliver. That is it.
The only three things that matter
After all my years of trial and error, and studying what is working right now, I have narrowed it down to this:
Human-to-human selling. Businesses still want to talk to a real person, especially for high-ticket decisions. That will not change anytime soon.
Staying current on AI. The person who understands the tools and knows what is new is the one capturing the value. That is literally why you are reading this newsletter.
Your domain expertise. Whatever you know deeply, finance, marketing, writing, operations, that combined with Claude is where the real opportunity lives.
You do not need all three to be perfect on day one. But these are the ingredients that make the model sustainable long-term.
Your meetings just got a lot more useful
Granola connects your meeting notes to tools like Claude and ChatGPT, so your AI actually understands your work context. Update your CRM, extract tasks, or write follow-ups without copy-pasting a thing.

How to actually get your first client
Here is the simplest path I have seen work for complete beginners:
Step 1. Decide what skill you are selling and who you are selling it to. Pick one type of business, one type of problem, one solution.
Step 2. Optimize your LinkedIn profile around that. Photo, headline, about section. Make it obvious what you do and who you help.
Step 3. Post on LinkedIn five times a week. Talk about AI in your niche, pain points your ideal client faces, and your own story. Five to ten likes per post is enough. Do not wait for followers to start outreach.
Step 4. Connect with 200 people per week on LinkedIn. You will get a 30 to 50 percent acceptance rate. That is 60 to 100 new connections every week of people who now see your content.
Step 5. When someone accepts, send a short message. Agitate a problem they have. Ask if they want you to send over a few thoughts on how they can solve it. If they say yes, send a short Loom video. Book a call. Present your solution simply. Pain, solution, simple steps. That is the whole pitch.
One of the people I studied in this space reached out cold to a CEO running a $39M company. No massive following. No fancy setup. Just a good message and a real problem she could solve. They got on a call.
That is possible for you starting this week.
My final thoughts
I spent years learning the hard way that building on someone else's platform, someone else's trend, or someone else's algorithm is not a business. It is a bet.
The solopreneur model I am describing here is different because it is built on your skills, your relationships, and your brand. Claude just makes it possible for one person to deliver what used to require a team.
The opportunity is genuinely wide open right now. Most businesses do not even know this is possible. That is your advantage. Go before it gets crowded.
Start with one skill. One type of client. One problem. Use Claude to deliver the result. Then do it again.
That is the whole business.
