On Thursday, I discussed more in deep about How AI can write like you with FREE Prompts. If you missed it you can read it here before going forward.

One of my Subscriber has asked me to How to write a decent Sales Email? So I am covering it in today’s Newsletter.

Sarah(One of my Subscriber) shared how he has to spend 2 hours simply trying to get AI to write a decent sales email.

1st attempt: Generic corporate fluff.
2nd attempt: Better, but still robotic.
3rd attempt: Closer, but missing the emotional hook.

By the 8th try, she was ready to throw his laptop out the window.

What’s interesting is…

She isn’t alone. This is true for a lot of people.
Because there’s something about AI that most people don't realize.

Most people use single prompts trying to get an output they want.
But that rarely happens.

Because it’s like asking someone to write a masterpiece after a 5-second conversation.
You can only get surface-level garbage because you're not giving AI enough context to work with.

But there's a solution to avoid this problem.
There’s a method that turns any AI model into a world-class copywriter in 3 connected prompts?

It's called Chain Prompting, and 99% of people have never heard of it.

Let me show you exactly how this works with Sarah’s sales email problem.

The 3-Step Prompt Chain Method

Step 1: The Foundation Prompt "I need to write a sales email for [product/service]. Before writing anything, help me understand my target audience by analyzing:
1) Their biggest pain points and frustrations,
2) What they've probably tried before that didn't work,
3) Their emotional state when they encounter this problem,
4) What outcome they're desperately hoping for,
5) What objections they'll have to buying. Give me a detailed psychological profile."

Step 2: The Strategy Prompt "Based on that audience analysis, create a persuasive email structure that addresses their psychology. Include:
1) An opening hook that acknowledges their frustration,
2) A way to agitate the problem without being manipulative,
3) How to position the solution as the logical next step,
4) Which objections to address and when,
5) The emotional journey you want to take them on. Give me the strategic framework, not the actual copy yet."

Step 3: The Execution Prompt "Now write the actual sales email using the audience psychology and strategic framework you just created. Make it conversational, authentic, and focused on their emotional journey. The tone should be [specify your brand voice]. Length should be [specify]. Include a clear call to action."

Sarah’s Transformation: Before vs After

Sarah’s Original Single Prompt: "Write a sales email for my online course about time management"

AI Response: "Subject: Master Your Time Today! Dear [Name], Are you struggling with time management? Our comprehensive course will teach you proven strategies to boost your productivity and achieve your goals. Sign up now for early bird pricing! Best regards, Sarah"

Yikes. Corporate. Generic. Boring.

Sarah’s Prompt Chain Result:

Step 1 Analysis: AI identified that his audience feels overwhelmed, guilty about procrastination, has tried multiple productivity apps that failed, and desperately wants to feel in control of their day without sacrificing family time.

Step 2 Strategy: Framework focused on acknowledging their app-fatigue, validating their overwhelm, positioning the course as the missing piece they haven't tried, and addressing the "I don't have time for a course"objection.

Step 3 Final Email:

"Subject: Why your productivity apps keep failing you
Hey [Name],
Let me guess - you've got 47 productivity apps on your phone but you're still working until 9 PM wondering where the day went.
I get it. I was the same person downloading every "game-changing"app, trying every "revolutionary"system, believing THIS would be the one that finally fixed my chaos.
But here's what nobody tells you about time management...
[Rest of email was authentic, engaging, and directly addressed their specific frustrations]"

As a result, Sarah’s email felt like it was written specifically for each reader. Because in a way, it was.

Now Here’s Some Advanced Prompt Chaining Secrets for You

The Context Stacking Method: Each prompt should reference previous responses: "Using the audience psychology from Prompt 1 and the strategic framework from Prompt 2, now..."

The Refinement Chain: After your initial 3-step chain, add a 4th prompt: "Review the email you just wrote. What could be improved based on the original audience psychology? Make it 20% more compelling while keeping the same tone."

The Multi-Angle Approach: Create multiple chains for the same project:

  • Chain 1: Emotion-focused angle

  • Chain 2: Logic-focused angle

  • Chain 3: Story-focused angle Then pick the best elements from each.

The Psychology Behind Why This Works

Single prompts force AI to make assumptions about your audience, goals, and context.

Prompt chains give AI the same information a human expert would need:

  • Who are you talking to?

  • What's their situation?

  • What outcome do you want?

  • How should this feel?

It's like the difference between asking a stranger for directions versus asking someone who knows your destination, your starting point, and why you're making the trip.

Here’s What You Can Do Now (Your Action Plan)

  1. Pick a piece of content you need to create this week

  2. Use the 3-step prompt chain method above

  3. Compare the result to what you'd get from a single prompt

  4. Watch your mind get blown by the difference

This will help you get 10x better output with a mere 5 mins of extra time.

Most people will keep using single prompts and wondering why their AI content feels shallow.

Whereas, YOU will be getting sophisticated, strategic content that actually connects with your audience.

Try this today.
